Ma Maison Mandarin Gallery is another staple for the past 3 decades. Ma Maison never disappoints. Tonkatsu is a firm north Asian favourite and I can see why. I’m sure most would have tried Ma Maison – it’s a franchise yes, but think of it as the premium economy of fried meats and food.

This post is just about the Hokkaido pork, because theirs is the best in the world. Really.

And the cold egg sauce dip. Think half boiled egg not with your regular toast – but with deep fried meat cutlets. Why didn’t I think of this before! This would be a 7.5/10 over the years. They serve a mean (full powered) high-ball. Another firm north Asian fave.

Nothing screams comfort food like fried meats on a bed of japonica rice and beer (or highball). I suspect your young ones will agree.
