Chiefeater Kane Chong thinks that the pork Nasi Lemak at Chuan Lee Restaurant in PJ's Section 11 is the best

Nasi Lemak, Pork-Free
Ordered nasi lemak for delivery from Nasi Lemak Nuarina, and my first impression was not the most promising. The Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (RM9) looked rather small, and the fried chicken itself appeared dry—and unfortunately, it tasted just as it looked. It lacked the juiciness that good fried chicken should have, making for a disappointing start.

However, things quickly took a turn for the better. The rice had a pleasant santan fragrance and was well-textured—firm without being too dry. The sambal was savoury and not sweet at all, which was a relief, as overly sweet sambal can often throw off the balance of a good nasi lemak. Actually I would recommend just getting the plain Nasi Lemak Bungkus if you want rice (RM3.50).

The ayam kunyit (RM6) was a much better protein option—flavourful and well-seasoned, with a satisfying bite. The beef rendang (RM6) was another highlight, delivering a good depth of flavour with a satisfying punch. for a simple yet satisfying meal.

Despite the letdown with the fried chicken, the other elements of the meal made up for it. Would order again but next time, I’d skip the ayam goreng.
