Chiefeater VK and Jen queued up for the Grumpy Bagels 1905, uncovering an intriguing textural found within their toasted bagels

Coffee, Cakes, Pastries, Pork-Free
I was swinging through the Taman Megah area one late morning, hungry for good coffee and a pastry, when Oomph caught my eye. Chiefeater VK had recommended this outlet before for the comfy decor and convenient parking at Megah Rise mall. I dropped in and ordered my usual caffeine-fix dose of a long black. I was pleasantly surprised: their coffee, made by Bread and Brew, is a strong and dark roast, perfect for a long black that will open your eyes early in the morning. The coffee is robust and has a bold flavor that coffee lovers will surely appreciate, especially if you had to deal with early morning meetings that are too early.

I also found them to have pretty good pastries. There’s also a big cake chiller unit with lots of varieties on display. I randomly picked the hazelnut croissant which has a Nutella filling or something similar in the middle. The creamy faux-choc goodness spills out all over the plate when you cut into it. Be careful if you’re holding it with your bare hands, as it might make a mess all over your fingers, which you could then smear all over your laptop.
If you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy your coffee and pastry, Oomph is a great option in the early morning. The cafe is peaceful and perfect for some keyboard time or a quiet catch-up with friends. Traffic slowly builds up and the cafe becomes almost full near lunchtime. Nevertheless, Oomph’s still has a comfortable and relaxed ambiance. With easy and cheap parking for big bikes and cars of any size at Megah Mall, it’s a convenient location to get your caffeine fix.
