It's time to spread my net of work-from-cafe spots in and around Puchong. I'm headed to the Tropika Bukit Jalil area near Pavilion when I spot another Oomph branch on my maps app. Bike parking is more like parking by the roadside and hoping for the best, so I bring my new full-face lid along with me into the cafe. Just in case.
Anyway, Oomph Bukit Jalil is a large cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Morning sees a growing crowd trickle in; at lunchtime the place is almost full. Good on them for pulling in the crowd.
I opt for a breakfast set of tuna spread in a croissant accompanied by a long black cup of coffee (below RM20). The croissant is fluffy and buttery, the tuna creamy and not too oily - just nice, in my view. There's a large selection of breakfast and tea pastries in the display counter to choose from.
The Driver brew from Brew and Bread is strong and pleasant, a lovely way of waking up on a slow morning. It's so good that I order a second cup of long black. It's almost a steal at RM5 a cup before 11 a.m. on weekdays.
As for laptop work, find a table off in the corner or in the outside seating area and you're good to go. Less distractions and less chatter from neighboring patrons to intrude on your time there.
