Ru Ji Kitchen Fish Ball Mee
Fish Ball Noodles, Street Food
The fish balls at Ru Ji Kitchen may be inconsistently shaped but Chiefeater Luke Soon found that there is bouncy delight in this asymmetry

Ramen
Oreryū Shio Ramen Shibuya Sōhonten is a no frills but tasty shio ramen franchise in Tokyo. Tokyo is def cheaper than Singapore! This very delicious meal for two was just $20c including 2 small cups of ice cold beer to wash the ramen down. It’s operated using a coin machine, and now Apple Pay ready to go along with times.
There are plenty of ramen shops, from hole in the walls to franchises to even Michelin starred icons. But for your quick, dependable meals while shopping in Shibuya, the franchises are a good option. We did just that today at their Shibuya outlet.
We went to the Shibuya main shop (渋谷総本店) — that’s the original and flagship location. Over time, the brand expanded to multiple outlets across Tokyo, mainly around Shibuya, Ebisu, Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Nakameguro.
The name means: “My Style Salt Ramen” — Ore-ryu literally translates to “My Style” or “My Way”.
• Founded: Early 2010s, Tokyo.
• Signature: Specialises in Shio (salt-based) ramen, lighter and clearer than the typical tonkotsu (pork bone) broths.
• Concept: “自由な味の追求” — freedom to pursue your own taste. You’ll notice they offer customisable toppings (garlic, yuzu zest, chili, butter, etc.) to “make it your way.”
