Pork Ribs, Pasta, Non-Halal
today had dinner with friend, william tan at a quite newly opened cafe – platta cafe, which is managed by chef audee of Chef Audee Private Kitchen. its grand opening was on 3 nov. the cafe is house in a big bungalow, which is just in front of chef audee’s kitchen. inside the seating is very spacious and spread out.

we order two different dishes so what we could share among ourselves – US BBQ hickory dock smoked pork ribs and grilled prawns squid ink pasta. also order the two soups available – mushroom soup and creamy pumpkin soup.
US BBQ hickory smoked pork ribs. RM48.00
pork ribs with chef special ‘hickory’ BBQ sauce, butter veggie and mac and cheese. the sauce was good… a bit sweet. topped with the pork ribs, the pork ribs tasted delicious. very tender and easy to slice off. the macaroni was new to me… big shell shaped ones. so far the mac i try are small cone-like shaped. i found the mac okay while my friend found it a bit hard.

grilled prawn pasta. RM45.00
squid ink spaghetti with jumbo prawns in butter garlic. the ‘white thing’ up there, at first we were wondering what it was but later realised it was poached egg. oh, they can managed to shape the poach eg thus? first time i try squid ink pasta. it was just quite okay to me. prefer other type of pasta. the prawns with the butter garlic was very delicious. i love the butter garlic. it kind of look like the garlic was burnt but no, not that. topped it with the prawns and then the prawns tasted oh-so-good.

creamy pumpkin soup. RM16.00
this was good. very thick and creamy

wild mushroom soup. RM16.00
er… too ‘watery’. not so good. many mushroom soup i try before were much better than this
