Chiefeater VK had a serendipitous find when he ordered a meal from Nanyang Sand Ginger Steam Chicken via food delivery

Japanese, Ramen, Pork-Free
Pork Free Ramen is not something that a regular ramen eater would think is good. But I didn’t want to kick it till I had tried it and that’s how we ended up having lunch here. And I am glad we did. Ramen is one of Japan’s most adaptable dish and it different broths can be used to give the dish a different dimension of flavour.
Jen ordered a bowl of Black Garlic Ramen while I ordered a bowl of rice, one with everything in it.
The Black Garlic Ramen arrived very quickly after we had placed the order. It had toppings of Chicken Chashu, a Flavoured Egg, Black Fungus and Spring Onions. The chicken broth was no slouch and it was full of flavour. However, the standout was the noodles. It was such a delight to eat it. They had cooked it with a very nice bite and with a slight chewiness to it. This is where ramen preference gets very subjective. Everyone has their preference to bite and springiness. I happened to like the way they did it.

The Special Rice Bowl had Minced Chicken, Chicken Chashu, Chicken Karaage and a Flavoured Egg in it. I mostly liked all the items in it. The Chicken Chashu was like a Teriyaki Chicken though not thinly sliced enough to pass off as a Chashu. The minced chicken was well seasoned. The egg was flavourful. The chicken karaage was tasty and generously sized.

All in our meal for 2 pax came up to almost RM64 and I would not mind coming back to have the ramen next time.
