Banana Leaf Rice, Pork-Free
It was a weekend and the children requested to have Indian. This we had at Rathaa Curry House Puchong with their Banana Leaf Rice. We had Fried Whole Leg Chicken (RM16), Chicken Varuval (RM8), Mutton Varuval (14.50), Mushroom (RM8) and a Cow Stomach Curry (RM13.80) to with our rice. Each meal set starts at RM8 for rice, condiments and curries.
The fish curry that came in the communal curry container lacked a bit of flavour. It lacked the tangy taste expected of a South Indian curry. If you want salted fish curry, you will need to specifically ask for it as they only serve that when requested. The papadam was not crispy. However, the other items made up for it and service was quick and attentive.
The Mutton Varuval did not have bones in it (unlike how some places serve it). And I did enjoy the Teh Tarik (RM2.40) very much.
Overall, it was decent lunch at Rathaa Curry House Puchong albeit on the pricey side. The bill came up to RM110.40 for 4.
Prices are nett.
