Chicken Chop, Non-Halal
I happened to be at Starling Mall during lunch and thought I would give Red Kettle Starling Mall a revisit. This time for something else. The last time I was here, I had the grilled chicken.
I was in Starling Mall to try and pick up some deals at the Machines warehouse sale. But after waiting in line for an hour, I noticed the items I had wanted to pick up on the cheap had both sold out. Mission foiled, I left the queue without entering the sale and I needed a good lunch to console me.

This time, I had their Old School Chicken Chop (RM28.90++). The chicken chop was a nice size and the meat was tender and juicy and well seasoned. The meat scored the points. I also like the potato and green peas that it came with. What I did not like as much was the sauce. While it was savoury, it did not really do anything else for the chicken. I guess my expectation of it was that it would add spiciness or tanginess to the dish. The sauce did neither for me. I am probably just being fussy. If I were to have this dish again, I would probably ask for the sauce to be placed on the side.

The wait staff at Red Kettle Starling Mall, however, deserve a mention for their attentiveness and friendly service. Despite being busy, the staff are able to convey a warmth that is sadly lacking in so many cafes and restaurants.
