ATAS Kopitiam —— Restoran Yum Me Place
Restoran Yum Me Place
ATAS Kopitiam - Restoran Yum Me Place upscale flavor.
Today I went to Restoran Yum Me Place in Damansara Heights for lunch. This kopitiam is located in Jalan Batai, ATAS (upscale residential area). As soon as I walked in, I saw that the diners were either rich or noble, driving big cars and carrying branded bags, full of style.
The stalls in this kopitiam are all run by local Chinese. The menu covers classic Malaysian Chinese cuisine, such as fish ball noodles, Chinese nasi lemak, Penang fried kway teow, pork noodles and chicken shredded rice noodles, etc., with rich choices.
I ordered a plate of Penang fried kway teow, and specifically asked for fresh clams, less bean sprouts, and less spicy - this is my favorite way to eat it. The kway teow was fried shiny and tempting, with the aroma of the red fried chili sauce. When I took a bite, the sweetness of the clams and the charred aroma of the scrambled eggs blended perfectly, which was really authentic.
Another dish is the Shredded Chicken and Prawn Rice Noodles. The soup base is made with prawn heads, which is rich and sweet. You can feel the original flavor of seafood with just one sip. The rice noodles are smooth, the shredded chicken is delicious, and the combination with fresh shrimps has distinct flavors. It is simply a perfect bowl of rice noodles.
Restoran Yum Me Place is not only a kopitiam in a high-end residential area, but also a gathering place for authentic flavors. No wonder it is so popular and has a high return rate.
