Was on a working trip nearby, and decided to have lunch at our usual restaurant here, Sam Steam Fish Head. We had the soya sauce steamed bighead carp (清蒸松鱼头), curry pork ribs, steamed eggs and stir fry bean sprout with salted fish.
We have dined here on numerous occasion, and the fish head had always been fresh and tasty, but not this time. While the accompanying soya sauce was savoury, the fish head itself was rather bland.
The curry pork ribs was thick, creamy and flavourful, with the potato soft, and the pork ribs was tender, fall off the bone type.
The steamed eggs was smooth and silky.
Stir fry bean sprout with salted fish was normal.
The restaurant do have many other items on their menu, among them freshly made to order yong tau foo. Service was prompt, price was decent, but may have some problem with parking.
