Sunday Roast, Non-Halal
Sunday roast is a typical outing for the Brits and we decided to do what the Romans do! We went to Roast located in Borough Market in London. We expected that it would just be a ‘normal’ lunch after church but we had a treat! We made our way through the market and promptly walked up the steps leading to the restaurant where we were greeted by a team of smiling staff, ready to lead us to our table. It felt really grand as the restaurant was gorgeously decorated with flowers and sunlight streaming down highlighting the beauty of the place. We settled at our table, readily set with place mats, cutleries and the various wine glasses. It felt luxurious.
We proceeded to order and the food was delicious! Ordering the beef and pork roast, we also tried the beef wellington, prawn cocktail, braised beef croquettes, just to name a few. It was a treat! My son (old as he is) was well entertained by his order of Big Ben, a ‘smoking’ cocktail.
Sunday roast is a time for the family to sit and have a leisurely meal, complete with alcohol, desert and coffee and we did just that. It was a lovely afternoon, amidst the very gloomy weather in London. I will go return when the opportunity arises!
