Beer
An early evening drink at On23 Sky Bar, perched atop the Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, offered front-row seats to one of KK’s famed sunsets. Ordered a cold Heineken (RM28++) and a small platter of fresh fruit skewers — simple companions to unwind with as the sun dipped over the South China Sea.

While it wasn’t the most dramatic sunset I’ve seen in Kota Kinabalu, it was still a beautiful one — golden reflections stretching across the water, islands outlined in soft shadow, and the slow, amber fade of day. The setting was calm, the bar chic and modern, and the breeze from the open terrace made the experience thoroughly relaxing. The beer was cold, crisp, and refreshing — exactly as it should be.

Score: 8.5/10
M – Meal Value (8.0): Drinks and fruit skewers are on the pricier side, but the quality and view justify it.
V – Vibe & Venue (9.0): Stylish open-air bar with one of the best sunset vantage points in KK.
X – X-Factor (8.5): The serene mix of golden light, sea breeze, and an ice-cold beer — pure evening calm.
