Big Breakfast
Looking for a change of scenery, we ended up at The Bread Bar Publika for breakfast today.

While the Big Breakfast set arrived with a nice presentation and a decent portion, the overall seasoning was unfortunately lacking.
The bread itself was somewhat hard, making it a bit of a challenge to eat. The scrambled eggs had a good texture, but I found myself needing to use the provided salt and pepper to give them the seasoning they required. This theme continued with the mushrooms – they had a good “bite” but were low on the taste department.

The spicy chicken patty was certainly not spicy by my standards. The beef bacon was juicy and an improvement on other items.

The saving grace of the plate was perhaps the hummus, which I genuinely liked and found to be the most flavorful component of the meal.

However, where they lack in flavor, they make up in attentive service from their crew.
Big Breakfast (Scrambled, Beef Bacon): RM48.00
English Breakfast Tea: RM12.00
Total : RM66.00 (Including 10% Service Charge)
Average Spend : RM33.00 per pax as Jen and I shared the big breakfast
Score: 7.0/10
M – Meal Value
At RM48.00 for a Big Breakfast, the expectations for flavor execution are high. While the portion is fair, the lack of consistent seasoning across multiple components—from the eggs to the chicken patty—impacts the overall value for money.
Score: 6.5/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The Bread Bar Publika offers a sleek, modern, and well-lit environment in the heart of Publika. It is a comfortable spot for a morning meal, with an aesthetic that leans toward an upscale, artisanal bakery vibe.
Score: 8.0/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor here is the texture and artisanal intent. Despite the seasoning issues, the quality of the individual ingredients (like the juicy bacon and the excellent hummus) shows promise.
Score: 6.5/10
