Fried Rice, Pork-Free
Jen and I were at Pavilion Bukit Jalil for lunch and found ourselves wandering into The Travelling Duck Bukit Jalil again. Typically, their duck dishes are the highlight of our meal, but on this visit, it was the Ma Bo Fried Basmathi Rice that unexpectedly stole the show.

The dish arrived as a substantial portion, far exceeding the usual expectations for a plate of fried rice. This was a serving meant for sharing between two people OR one very hungry diner. While the rice lacked that distinct charred aroma of wok hei that often elevates fried rice, the overall taste more than made up for it. The basmati grains were light yet packed with flavour, each bite delivering a rich, savoury profile that felt satisfying without being heavy.

For RM32, the price might seem a bit on the premium side, but considering the portion size and the quality, I accept that as the norm now.
