Tho Yuen Restaurant Cantonese Fried Hor Fun
Post by Chiefeater Paula Tan
Brunch with Mum & Aunty Lean See yesterday. and it was a vintage one at Campbell Street's Tho Yuen, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient & Penang instituition that's over 80 years old.
Serving dishes particular to Penang, it delivered on its intense fried hor fan, cutely known as char huan chu. We also had san mee, an ee mee-like noodle in egg gravy, and kai than ko, a sponge cake similar to kuih bahulu. The fish was a nice addition.
