Italian, Tiramisu
Taman Desa’s culinary grid has gained a slice of Rome with Tonda Pizza Romana, the sister establishment to the well-known Round Pizza. Stepping in for a Sunday afternoon session, the space immediately sets a stylish tone with its sleek counter seating, warm overhead mirrors, and an open workspace that builds up a fair expectation for authentic Italian craftsmanship.

We began our trial with the Bufala Margherita. Given the upgrade to premium buffalo mozzarella, we anticipated a vibrant, punchy flavor profile, but the result was surprisingly muted. The cheese lacked that definitive tangy sharpness, leaving the pizza feeling structurally sound with its wafer-thin, cracker-crisp Roman crust, but somewhat flat on the palate.

Their own chili oil.

The kitchen found its groove with the arrival of the Pork Rib Ragu paired with La Mafalda pasta. This was a thoroughly enjoyable plate; the ragu was expertly seasoned, carrying a rich savory depth with great bits of tender pork rib meat that offered a satisfying bite against the ruffled edges of the ribbon pasta.

Capping off the session, the Baileys Tiramisu turned out to be the undisputed winner of the afternoon. It beautifully balanced a strong espresso soak with an exceptional, cloud-like airiness that avoided the heavy, dense pitfalls of lesser versions. It is a triumphant dessert that completely elevated the final chord of our meal.

A Spanish beer named Mahou.

M – Meal Value
At nearly RM60 per head for a three-pax lunch, the pricing sits firmly in the contemporary casual-premium bracket. While the Margherita felt slightly overpriced for its muted performance, the high standard of the pasta and the superb tiramisu pull the overall utility back into positive territory.
Score: 7.5/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The venue scores high on design and atmosphere. The contrast of the deep red accents against sleek golden-lit counter stools gives it an intimate, European bistro energy that feels vibrant without being overwhelmingly loud for a weekend lunch.
Score: 8.5/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor belongs entirely to the Baileys Tiramisu. Achieving that level of structural airiness while managing a prominent, unshy liquor profile is a genuine display of technical pastry execution that makes it a must-order item.
Score: 8.5/10
