Chiefeater Lee Mun and his wife had the wat tan hor in Heritage Bamboo Noodles which he felt was too small a portion
Jiangxi Noodles, Non-Halal
I recently visited Uncle Luo, a chain restaurant originating from China that specializes in Jiangxi noodles dating back to 1937. Jiangxi noodles are typically made from wheat flour and water, resulting in noodles that are characterized by their smooth texture and springy consistency.
At Uncle Luo, I had the pleasure of trying their Jiangxi noodles, which indeed had that delightful springy texture that Jiangxi noodles are known for. The noodles were cooked perfectly and served in a flavourful broth that complemented them well.
I ordered the noodles with fried pork chop (RM23.80), which turned out to be a delightful surprise. The pork chop was tender, flavourful, and not at all dry—a perfect accompaniment to the noodles.
What really caught me off guard was the stinky tofu (RM11.90). While it's known for its pungent aroma, the stinky tofu at Uncle Luo was surprisingly mild in its "stinkiness". However, it packed a lot of flavour and was quite enjoyable even for those who may not typically appreciate stinky tofu.
Total bill including a drink was RM50.15.
