Fusion, Pork-Free
It had been over two years since my last visit to Wizards at Tribeca, but I found myself there again for lunch. The grilled unagi rice bowl (RM36) had been getting a lot of recommendations, so Jen decided to give it a try. While she appreciated the crispy, grilled unagi and its flavour, she found it a bit too thin, which took away from the overall bite and texture she was expecting.

As for me, I opted for the braised beef ragout (RM40), which was served with gnochetti. For those unfamiliar, gnochetti are small, shell-like pasta that somewhat resemble sago worms in appearance. They’re smaller than gnocchi and hold sauce well due to their shape, but visually, I couldn’t help but draw that comparison.

One nice touch is that Wizards offers a free slice of cake to those celebrating a birthday. So, if it’s your special day, don’t hesitate to let them know.

What left a very lasting impression was how they responded to a mistake in the bill. I discovered several days after I had been there that I had accidentally been billed for 2 glasses of wine instead of the one which I had. Contacting them at the WhatsApp link below, I was connected to the Sajib – the operations manager. Explaining the situation to him, he quickly apologised for the mistake and within minutes had refunded the monies to me. That was one of the best experiences I had gone through in terms of a refund. Definitely a winning customer service moment.
