Wantan Mee, Char Siew, Non-Halal
I had read several reviews of Xiguan Wantan Mee which said the noodles here were good. But as fate would have it, my available timing always coincided with their off days. Finally, I made the effort to sync my timetable to make it here and I am so glad I did.
The noodles, the star of any good wantan mee, surpassed expectations. Boasting a firm and satisfying bite, they were generously seasoned and adorned with the sinful delight of lard, elevating the dish.

The char siew, a crucial element in the wantan mee ensemble, showcased a delicate balance. Tender and succulent, it played its part in contributing to the caramelised sweet and savoury melody of the overall composition.

The shrimp wantan, rounded up the symphony. The wantan was a plump revelation of a juicy prawn nestled within delicate wantan wrap. Each bite unfolded a burst of seafood goodness, adding a layer of complexity to the dish.

The kopi, albeit a bit strong for personal preference, would certainly cater to the aficionados of robust local coffee.

Beyond the delight to my palate, Xiguan Wantan Mee offered a fun fact. Their chinese name, 西關大少, comes from a TVB drama of the same name. I know this because they have posters of the series on the walls of their shop.
The Menu
Our meal came up to RM39 for the two of us.

I would rank this as the best place to go for wantan mee for Puchong residents. The bummer is that it is located at a place that is not serviced by any train.
