Fish Cake, Non-Halal
A chance stroll along Puteri 4 led me to discover You Seafood Noodles, a cosy spot that specialises in fresh seafood dishes. I decided to try their fish cake and lala soup, and I was not disappointed.
The fish cake is made from a fresh supply of Ikan Parang (wolf herring) sourced from Tanjung Sepat, which gives it a wonderful springy texture and a lovely, clean taste. Each bite was satisfying, and the fish cake didn’t feel overly processed or artificial, which is often the case in lesser versions of the dish.

Be warned, though—the accompanying chili sauce is incredibly spicy, so it’s not for the uninitiated!

As for the lala soup, it was remarkably fresh, giving the broth a rich, briny flavour that tasted of the ocean. For those unfamiliar with lala, it’s a type of small clam commonly used in Asian cuisine. The clams were plump, tender, and perfectly cooked, adding a delightful texture to the soup.

You Seafood Noodles impressed me with its focus on quality ingredients, and I’ll definitely be back for more of their fresh seafood offerings.
