Prawn Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
I had seen the social media posts by the Prawn Mee operator at Kopi Tim Wan in Bandar Puteri Puchong many times but never ordered it. Today I finally caved in and decided to give it a try. I made an order through a delivery app, which meant there were extra packaging costs involved.
My order promptly arrived not long after I ordered it. No need for the speedy delivery option.
Tang Mei was generous with the broth. I ordered the large mee hoon option with extra pork and it came with the usual noodles, half an egg, prawns, fish cakes and vegetables.
The broth was rich and flavourful without being too salty. Its aroma hit me as I unpacked it. You get a burst of prawn and pork essence with each sip. The noodles had a slightly soft texture, not mushy, but a bit too soft for my liking. It could have been a touch firmer but I enjoyed them. The prawns were tasty though not juicy. The pork meat was a bit tough but that is to be expected for a prawn mee dish.
At RM19.50 with the extra items and the packaging premium, the price is what you would expect to pay on a delivery platform.
I tried a Kopi Tim Wan Cham Ais (RM4.20) too but my opinion is Guan’s still holds the high water mark for Cham Ais in Puchong.
