Chicken Chop, Fish & Chips, Non-Halal
Pom Pom by the Corner is the new restaurant that has replaced Corner 13 at Bandar Metro Puchong. I had visited them a few months earlier but at that time the kitchen was still out of sorts. I decided to give them a try again as they had what I thought I wanted for lunch.
We ordered a Cajun Grilled Chicken Chop (RM22.90) and Fish & Chips (RM24.90). Surprise! I wasn’t the one having the chicken. The Chicken Chop was missing the Cajun taste in the name. Cajun spices should have a spicy, earthy and sometimes even a smoky flavour. The chicken was perhaps under-grilled resulting in a less than satisfactory crispiness on the skin.
I had the fish because the waiter at Pom Pom by the Corner said that they use Butter Fish and not Dory. While the batter managed to stick to the fish, unfortunately it lacked seasoning making the whole fish rather bland.

The menu at Pom Pom by the Corner did highlight that their recommended items would be Thai inspired dishes. All of it were rice dishes, which I can’t take. So I guess, I only have myself to blame. It seems I was doing a lot of that last week.
