Pasta, Risotto, Non-Halal
My recent visit to Marco's One Utama marked a return to a restaurant I last visited back in 2019. After a satisfying experience at their outlet in Gardens, I decided to opt for a family dinner here. The culinary journey at Marco's One Utama provided a delightful blend of flavours, textures, and homemade pasta.
One of the standout dishes of the evening was the Mushroom Risotto, which proved to be splendid. This dish showcased expert seasoning, ensuring that every bite was a harmonious symphony of flavours and textures. A well-prepared risotto should have a creamy and slightly firm texture, created by gradually adding warm liquid and stirring continuously. The Mushroom Risotto at Marco's achieved this balance beautifully.

The pasta dishes were another highlight, as Marco's prides itself on making its pasta in-house and serving it al dente, as advertised. Jen's choice of Prosciutto Spaghetti offered an excellent balance of flavours, with the saltiness of the prosciutto enhancing the taste of the pasta.

David's Carbonara also received praise for its well-executed creaminess.

I personally opted for the Pork Chop alla Bolognese, which presented an interesting combination of flavours. Bolognese sauce over prosciutto crisps, served on top of a fried pork chop, created a unique experience. While the dish offered delightful flavours, the thin pork chop lacked the expected juiciness typically associated with a pork chop.

To conclude the meal on a sweet note, we indulged in a Brulee Cheesecake and a Soufflé. The Brulee Cheesecake delighted with its tart flavour profile, but it was the Soufflé that stole the show. A well-prepared soufflé should be airy, characterized by its light and fluffy texture, and the one at Marco's was a perfect example of this culinary art.

Soufflé

In summary, Marco's One Utama offers a memorable dining experience, with highlights including a Mushroom Risotto that excels in flavour and texture. The homemade pasta dishes are a testament to their commitment to quality, and the desserts, especially the Soufflé, provide a sweet and airy conclusion to the meal. Marco's is indeed a worthy destination for those in search of a well-rounded and flavourful dining experience.
There's an additional story to this. I had actually asked the person who attended to me in Marco's Gardens to help me book a table at One Utama. He happily did it and scored extra brownie points.
