Hakka Mee, Non-Halal
I had read about the noodles at Holiao Noodles and was planning to head to Salak South to give it a try. Then I found out that they actually have an outlet off OKR and that is how we ended up at Holiao Noodles for lunch.
Jen and I spilt the options of the original and spinach noodles between the two of us. She had the original and I had the spinach noodles. We had both their dry form. Interestingly the spinach noodles had a firmer bite than the original. Which was just perfect for me. Both bowls came with sides. The original came with pork balls (RM9++) while I had my spinach noodles with pork wantan (RM9++).

Spinach Noodles
Diverging in taste perceptions, Jen found the noodles a tad bland, necessitating the intervention of soy sauce and chili oil. In contrast, my palate found contentment in the nuanced flavours, possibly enhanced by the indulgence in extra pork lard since Jen contributed her portion to me.

To complement our noodle experience, we opted for sides of minced meat, compensating for the modest meat portions in our bowls. The Hakka braised intestines emerged as an exquisite add on that left a lasting impression with its delectable flavours.
The entire gastronomic escapade inclusive of a drink tallied up to RM38.30. Holiao Noodles Old Klang Road was certainly good value for money. A cafe like setting but close to street food prices.
