We were venturing into the heart of the city's nightlife, The Blind Pig, a discreet speakeasy bar, unveiled itself with a mere braille code on its entrance. This was clever and subtle nod to the clandestine charm within.
Entering Blind Pig is like stepping into a secret world. The dimly lit ambiance, the hushed tones of patrons and soft jazz music set the stage for an evening filled with mystery and allure. The small yet welcoming space creates an intimate setting, making it perfect for those seeking a quiet escape.
Seated by the bar, I was greeted by Mica, the enthusiastic mixologist at Blind Pig. With a cheerful demeanour, she set the tone for a delightful evening. Her concoction, the "Smokey Bastard," immediately caught my attention. The cocktail is made from Ardbeg 10 year old Islay Scotch, Cigar Infused Maple Syrup, Peychaud's Bitters, and Orange Smoke.
The subtle smokiness of the whiskey intertwined with other carefully selected ingredients, creating a harmonious blend that danced on the palate.
