Lumiere Restaurant Lunch
Western, Fine Dining, Non-Halal
- RM50 - RM100 per pax
Chiefeater David Quah enjoyed the lunch of a variety of dishes he ordered at Lumiere Restaurant in Lebuh Keng Kwee
Chinese, Non-Halal
After having made delivery orders before from Tsuen Wan Restaurant Sunway Geo, it was only recently I actually dined in at their outlet.
The Beancurd Rolls were a delightful prologue to the meal. The crispy exterior gave way to a soft, flavourful centre, making it a promising prelude to what lay ahead.
The Stir-Fried Hong Kong Kailan, with its vibrant hues and a satisfying crunch, proved to be a delight. Each bite left a memorable impression.
The Cereal Butter Fish combined crunch and sweetness from the cereal and I felt that overpowered the fish fillet. The delicate balance of buttery richness and the playful texture of cereal should have elevated the dish but did not quite hit the high notes expected of it.
While the Claypot Tofu with Salted Fish and Chicken offered a comforting ensemble, a slightly overpowering saltiness demanded a thoughtful remedy. Ingeniously, the cereal from the fish dish proved to be the perfect companion, adding a sweet counterpoint that transformed the dish into a harmonious blend of flavours.
The Claypot Beef Brisket, though satisfying, left a minor yearning for more in terms of portion size. I would suggest eating this dish before having the claypot tofu. Otherwise the robust flavours of the salted fish would overshadow the subtle taste of this dish.
The bill inclusive of drinks came up to RM136.75. This meant that it worked out to less than RM35 per person, which is a fair value to pay for an enjoyable meal.
