Chiefeater Luke Soon finds the nostalgic environment at Hong Jia Lao Guo Taman Megah goes well with the food they serve
Soft Boiled Eggs, Non-Halal
I had a breakfast rendezvous at Thong Kee SEA Park with a friend. Upon arrival, we were seamlessly assigned a table. The outlet manager giving us a number slip to tell us which table to sit at. That approach that not only ensured a smooth flow of patrons but also showcased their dedication to efficient service.
I ordered a classic breakfast choice – soft boiled eggs. It proved to be a delightful decision. The eggs, boasting the nutritional goodness of Omega-3, were prepared to perfection with a nice runny yolk. What truly set this soft boiled egg apart was the soya sauce and pepper ensemble. The quality of the soya sauce was above average, exuding a rich aroma that elevated the entire dish. A good soya sauce possesses a nuanced fragrance, marrying savoury and slightly sweet notes. That extra bit of thought created a symphony of flavours that lingered on the palate.
The croissant had been recommend by some and I thought I would give it a try. The croissant was a good size but that is where my praises stop about it. It did not have the airiness and fluffiness I would expect of a good croissant. I think I would have been better off sticking to a slice of toast bread.
