Today's trip took me to Tanjung Sepat, a small coastal town in Kuala Langat district, in Selangor, which is popular for day trips during weekends. The town is dotted with numerous sea food restaurants. Having tried several restaurants here before, this time we opted for a different place for our lunch, hence, Yong Chen Restaurant.

The menu book offered to us was without any indication of price , hence we were septical of ordering expensive items like prawns, crabs and fish in a touristy town like Tanjung Sepat. The famous HK food critic Chua Lam was prominently display on the front page of the extensive menu. The restaurant is air-conditioned, but we opted to have our lunch at the back of the restaurant with a fabulous sea view.
Since only 3 of us, we have a simple claypot spicy pig trotter, kung pau mantis prawn, oyster omelette and a silk gourd (petola in Malay) soup for our lunch.
The spicy claypot pork trotter tasted just average to me. Although it comes with pieces of dried cuttlefish, it somehow was lacking in taste and aroma.

The kung pau mantis prawn fared better, with was crispy and flavourful, unlike some others which was soggy.

Oyster omelette was average, and the silk gourd soup was simple and sweet, with slices of fish cake, button mushroom and egg drop floss.

silk gourd soup

Parking was aplenty at the front of the restaurant. Service was great, portion was big, and price was reasonable.
