While on the way to PD found this Mambau Khek Yong Tau Fu at Mambau town. Upon turn off from the highway to Mambau before the PD tol booth within half km we passed a river and immediately see this stall on the left along Mambau road.
This third generations 40 plus years stall serves traditional yong tau fu which taste reminds me of our grand parents recipe. The stuffings are pretty generously full and firm to the bites as they uses pure mince fish and pork meats. Taste good.
I particularly like their fried variety with their own traditional flavour found in no other place that I have eaten so far. In fact I order another two pieces to savour at the end of our meal. Their fried fucuk is good, thick and crunchy.
I like the fried sui kow which has fresh vege in its stuffing which give it a nice contrast of textures to its crunchy exterior. Their chilli and sweet source are done in mild flavours in order not to over powerefd the yong tau fu which is a nice touch.
They also serves their own made pan mee which comes in soup version and dried version c/w meats bits. While the dry version is unique and nice in its own way I prefer their soup pan mee which firm noodles blend very well with the mild flavoured soup.
The lady who serve us at Mambau Khek Yong Tau Fu conversed with me in hakka fluent which made the experience even more authentic. Our total bill for two person come to RM27.90 which is a reasonable bill especially considering the traditional taste that we got to enjoyed. Looking forward to drop by again when on the way the Port Dickson next time.
