Another shoutout to Paradise Teochew Takashimaya. Everyone knows well, Teochew being a port city – they’re very capable fishermen. Fresh fish and congee is what most will associate the Teochews with. The braised ducks and meats of course, goes without saying. But back to their original calling card – seafood.
The pomfret thick vermicelli is wonderful at 7.5/10. Thick almost gooey and rich broth coating every slice of pomfret and each strain of vermicelli.
The claypot soon hock in milky broth was superb at 8/10. First deep fried then simmered and brought to boil and braised in the thick collagen like broth (infused with scallions and onions and garlic), such a wonderful concoction.
I can safely say you won’t regret ordering ANY fish dish in Paradise Teochew Takashimaya. Really.
