Chiefeater VK visited Hakka Kopitiam, discovering a menu that offers a much broader range of dishes than their name suggests

Thai, Street Food, Non-Halal
I have done a review previously of Krua Thai Bandar Metro Puchong but that was for dinner. This was the fist time I have been there for lunch. Rather than the staples I would usually order, I tried something else instead. I had a Kha Mu (Stewed Pork Leg) Noodle (RM11). Jen had a Fried Pork & Garlic Rice (RM11) while David had a Basil Pork Rice (RM11). I was feeling greedy, so I ordered a Thai Spicy Sausage (RM18) too.
While the taste of the Kha Mu was good, I didn’t enjoy the noodles. It wasn’t soft but it didn’t have any springiness either. Perhaps I should have had it with the rice.

Both the Fried Pork & Garlic Rice and Basil Pork Rice were well seasoned. The Pork had good texture meaning there was enough bite in it without being too hard. David said he would have like the Basil Pork to be spicier.

The dish that I enjoyed was the Thai Spicy Sausage. The spicy in the name was a misnomer. It wasn’t spicy. But it was certainly flavourful and would have gone well with a beer or a light red. Maybe that’s a dish that I could order to go next time.

The other item that we enjoyed was the Tab Tim Krob. The santan they used was thick and creamy. The slices of jackfruit that they added in it was a nice touch. Totally enjoyable.

All in with drinks (which included a coconut), the bill came up to RM68.
Prices are nett and they accept TnG.
