Ah Cheng Cafe Street Food
Street Food, Non-Halal
- Under RM20 per pax
Chiefeater David Quah was at Ah Cheng Cafe in Taman Jelutong to enjoy some Penang street food delights
Fusion, Non-Halal
Morsels Restaurant is founded and operated by Chef-Owner Petrina Loh and relocated to the popular food enclave of Dempsey Hill in 2017. Set within a rustic-looking barnyard and surrounded by lush greenery, the 40-seater eatery continues to serve creative fusion dishes with an amalgamation of different flavours to engage all five of your senses.
First time diners who are unsure of what to have, can always go for the Lunch Omakase (SGD45 per pax), which consists of dishes handpicked by the chef herself. To top it off, you can also opt for the Wine Pairing (SGD35 for 2 glasses/pax) combination if you would like to get a few glasses in.
Patrina keeps the menu fresh and this time around we had the Japanese prawn & miso risotto pairing (with Sake). This was a 6.5/10
The other main we had was the seared threadfin- this was also a 6.5/10
The Jap oysters were also delectably fresh. Half a dozen. The coconut broth which each oyster swam in was also zingy. This was 7/10.
Total $379 for 3 pax including 2 bottles of 720ml sake. The sakes (only for this month) were the highlights for me. The 2 bottles of sake came up to SGD200. Overall experience 6.5/10 @ Morsels, Dempsey.
