Wantan Mee, Non-Halal
Pin Yuen Noodle House Puchong is a relatively new eatery in Bandar Puteri 2 Puchong. I decided to try the curry mee and wantan mee from their place via food delivery.
Jen opted for the Curry Wantan Mee, which came with a thick, savoury broth that was a standout feature of the dish. Sampling a spoonful, I appreciated its rich flavours. The noodles were a pleasant surprise. Perfectly cooked and retaining their springiness even after delivery. However, the char siew left much to be desired. Lean and on the drier side, it lacked the succulence and caramelised edge that makes char siew shine. Both Jen and I felt it was the weak point in the dish in what was otherwise a good curry mee.

I had the Konlow Wantan Mee, which turned out to be a satisfying choice. The bamboo noodles were al-dente and held up exceptionally well despite the delivery time. I appreciated the attention to detail in the packaging, as the light savoury soy-based sauce was kept separate, ensuring the noodles didn’t become soggy. The sauce was not of the sweet variety which met with my approval. It provided a balanced seasoning that paired nicely with the noodles. Do note that the copious amounts of fried lard was an added option

The wantan was a highlight — chunky, flavourful, and featuring a delightful shrimp in it.

Pin Yuen Noodle House Puchong scored points for their meticulous preparation and thoughtful packaging ensuring the dishes survived delivery with their quality intact. If the food is this good delivered, I can only imagine how much better it would taste freshly served at their outlet.
