Indonesian, Bebek, Pork-Free
Warung Eropa KL delivers an delicious taste of Indonesia with one of its standout dish, the Bebek Kremes Set (RM67.90). This crispy deep-fried duck, coated in a light layer of spiced flour batter, was a joy to savour. The meat was tender and richly flavoured, with the added surprise of its bones being so crisp they were edible.

The sambal options accompanying the dish enhanced my enjoyment of the dish too. Each brought its unique level of spice and flavour complexity, providing additional ways to enjoy the duck. The rice, however, was less impressive. Served clumpy, it was perhaps a nod to the traditional style of Indonesian rice, which often carries a slightly stickier texture compared to the fluffier varieties commonly served in Malaysia. While authentic, it didn’t quite resonate with me personally.

To cap off the meal, the set came with a complimentary dessert, an Es Doger which comes with fermented cassava, bread, jackfruit, dragonfruit, nata de coco, coconut milk and condensed milk.

A notable mention at Warung Eropa KL goes to the Ice Lime Tea with lemon sorbet (RM12), a refreshing beverage with a creative twist – a lemon sorbet floating within the tea. The zesty, icy sorbet melted into the tea, giving it a layered and dynamic flavour that I thoroughly enjoyed. While they provided additional syrup, I don’t think it’s necessary at all as the sorbet had enough sugar within it to sweeten the drink.

They also have a private room that’s suitable for 8 pax.
