Tang Jai Yoo Restaurant Teochew Dinner
Teochew
Chiefeater Patrick Sato Lee had a simple Teochew style dinner at Tang Jai Yoo Restaurant in Bangkok's Chinatown

Noodles, Non-Halal
I was at Johor Road yesterday, wanted to try the roadside hawkers centre but as i parked by the roadside i saw this big looming building with Jiashi Cafe in front of me so decided to go in. the name also sounds a bit familiar to me and then suddenly it dawned on me, i saw it before. the johor rd one is one of their many branches but it does not serve ‘chu char’ dishes like the video posted here, at the gurney drive and tg bungah branch.
the promo poster. worth it lah as i got my coffee for half the price.

i was recommended a new dish of them, not in the menu yet – rendang pork belly with wantan noodles, so i took it. also ordered their ‘yin yang’ coffee (coffee with milk tea) and dessert ‘bee kor moi’ (glutinous rice).
rendang pork belly noodles. RM17.80.
the rendang pork belly was quite delicious. surprised as first time trying it. i asked if i can buy just the rendang pork belly tapau (takeaway) but the server said no. the noodles – wan tan mee type – was good too. all in all quite filling.

yin yang coffee (coffee with milk tea). RM2.00 as promo with main. delicious. quite thick and not too sweet

bee kor moi. RM6.30quite nice. luckily the santan (coconut milk) came separately as i can put in how much i want. i did not finish up all as i don’t like too much santan in it.

RM27.40 for the whole meal
