Chicken Feet, Mixed Rice, Non-Halal
The Braised Chicken Feet at Restoran Heong Shin is served in a rich, glossy sauce that clings to every piece. 6 pieces of chicken feet together with 2 pieces of Yong Tau Foo (YTF) came to RM12, making it a surprisingly satisfying and affordable meal for one.
The YTF pieces were generous in size and carried that unmistakable handmade feel — the kind that’s firm yet juicy when you bite in. The taste is robust and is the pork stuffing variety which I like. Not many places do it like this but Restoran Heong Shin does.

Tender, flavour-packed, and perfectly braised — the chicken feet were just the right level of gelatinous, with the sauce deeply infused into every joint. There’s that comforting soy-based richness balanced with a slight sweetness, the kind that makes you reach for rice even if you didn’t plan to. And the umami-ness from the mushrooms just added to the dish.
This is a place that is unpretentious and hopefully dependable.
