Japanese
Ginza’s energy is infectious. After sampling a few local bars such as the very popular High Five and Bar Samboa (both established since 1924 and 1918 respectively), the hungry pangs got to us. We marauded the Ginza night streets and chanced upon Teng Grand Food Hall Ginza Nine. Think of it as midnight hawker fare. For those that have watched the iconic Tokyo Midnight Dinner, this will ring bells.
The food was delicious. Maybe it’s the alcohol talking but midnight fried food reigns supreme, and even more so during late night autumn Tokyo.
The scrambled eggs was sublime! Similar done-ness to ones we find in Hong Kong.

The burdock roots was crunchy and addictive.

The simple bean sprouts in sesame oil was very refreshing

The squid (ika) was done just right. Succulent and had that nice umami toasted scent.

The yakitori sticks was unforgettable.

Even the gyozas were tasty.

There’s only the slight problem that everything is in Japanese (not even an English menu) but nothing Google Translate and finger pointing won’t help. Also we had our Korean friend who speaks Japanese, so we’re lucky..
