Restaurant Gold Dragon City has become a family staple over the last 1-2 years. Yesterday, we found a new hack – order the roast duck from Chan Kee a few doors down. Chan Kee was discovered by Chiefeater VK when we dined at Luck Kee Paramount. The captains at Gold Dragon City finally let us in on this little secret (finally! It took 10+ meals here to unlock!)

Anyway, back to the GDC. The sang har meen here is very respectable, on days even topping that of Green View and Sweet Inn nearby. It’s always a 7/10 but on some nights, coupled with other GDC delicacies like the deep fried garlic pork belly slices, it’s touching 7.5/10

The deep fried garlic pork comes with copious amounts of garlic (while bulbs) and sprinkled with curry leaves – absolute cracker at 7.5/10 usually.

The soon hock is very dependable at RM15 per 100g. For us, always steamed in HK soya sauce (or the occasional deep fry), but it’s always 7/10 and above here.
