Omakase
Our dinner at Sushinosuke MY was a thoroughly enjoyable 2-hour and 25-minute experience. We attended the second seating of the night, which began at 7:45 pm. Pinnacle PJ is not a place one would imagine to find a place to have omakase but here it is and what an excellent omakase it turned out to be.

We were well-entertained throughout the evening by Michael, the head waiter who shares a half-Okinawan and half-Filipino heritage, and our chef for the night, Chef Tommy.

Hailing from Osaka, Chef Tommy found his true calling in the art of sushi, and his passion was evident in every course.

Yam and seaweed in vinegar

Red snapper with sakura

Bonito with onion soya sauce

Engawa (fin of flounder called hirame)

Japanese tiger prawn with yuzu salt

Chawan Mushi with salmon roe, boiled scallop and diced cabbage

Horse Mackerel (Aji) with spring onion and ginger

Maguro. Lean part with little fat.

Chutoro. Seared in front of us. The searing bringing out the fat making this a flavour bomb in the mouth.

Firefly squid with miso vinegar sauce. That miso sauce was a winner!

Hokkaido Abalone with abalone liver sauce

Mackerel / sawara with yuzu miso soya sauce

Noten (from the head of a tuna)

Sushinosuke special (uni, ikaru and tuna)

Shiraee tofu, pickled radish and wasabi water spinach. The texture of the tofu was like cream cheese which I did not expect.

Crab (kani) with ponzu sauce and chili powder

Tamago with special cutting technique by Chef Tommy

Miso was perhaps the weakest dish of the night. Somewhat underwhelming flavours.

Unagi hand roll. Super crunchy seaweed.

Dessert

While every course (apart from the Miso) was well-received, the standout highlights for me were the bonito and the chutoro (fatty tuna). The bonito was served with precision, while the chutoro offered that quintessential melt-in-the-mouth texture that defines premium tuna cuts. It is a fantastic destination for those seeking a casual yet fashionable omakase journey in the heart of PJ.
Sake
The Hakutsuru may have been cheaper sake of the two but I actually liked it’s fragrance better.

Katsuyama

Dinner Omakase: RM388++ per pax
Hakutsuru (180 ml): RM40++ per pax
Katsuyama (180 ml): M80++ per pax
Lunch Omakase is available on Sat & Sun at RM188++ per pax
Score: 8.8/10
M – Meal Value
At RM388++, the dinner omakase offers a comprehensive and high-quality sequence of courses. Given the variety of premium ingredients like Uni, Abalone, and specialized tuna cuts, the price point represents strong value for a high-end omakase in the Klang Valley.
Score: 8.5/10
V – Venue & Vibes
Located in Pinnacle Mall, the venue manages to be both fashionable and approachable. The interaction with Michael and Chef Tommy, combined with the steady, unhurried pace of the 145-minute seating, creates a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
Score: 9.0/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor is the personal storytelling and engagement. Learning about Chef Tommy’s journey from Osaka to the sushi counter, alongside the educational breakdown of tuna cuts makes it a memorable culinary event rather than just a meal.
Score: 9.0/10
