Sushi Ryujiro Omakase
Japanese, Omakase
Chiefeater Luke Soon tried the omakase at Sushi Ryujiro, the recent addition to Singapore's Japanese fine dining options in Sep 2026

Bagel
Bagels live or die by texture, and 36 Degree Bakehouse Seibu TRX got that part largely right. The bagel itself was pretty good, with the sort of chew and firmness that gives you the feeling of eating something properly baked rather than something soft and forgettable.

The kiosk is small but cozy.

What held this one back was the beef pastrami. It was still rather cold when served, and that took some momentum out of the whole thing. With a bagel like this, a warmer filling would have made a real difference. The contrast between the nicely textured bagel and the cold pastrami made the sandwich feel less put together than it could have been.

I doggy bagged a jalapeno bagel home which I had with warm bacon and that warmth made it hearty.
The flat white, however, fared a lot better. It was the more satisfying part of the set, and ended up rescuing the overall experience somewhat. So 36 Degree Bakehouse was not a bad stop.

Jalapeño Cheese Bagel – RM7.00
Pesto Sauce – RM8.00
Beef Pastrami – RM10.00
Beverage Set – RM5.00
Total: RM30.00
Average per pax: RM30.00
MVX Score: 7.0/10
M – Meal Value
At RM30, this did not feel outrageous for TRX, especially with a beverage included, but the cold pastrami kept it from feeling like full value.
Score: 6.8/10
V – Venue & Vibes
Being inside Seibu at The Exchange TRX gives it a polished department store café feel, and it works well enough for a short bagel-and-coffee stop.
Score: 7.2/10
X – X-Factor
The chewy jalapeño cheese bagel was the best thing about the food, while the flat white was the item that left the better impression.
