Big Breakfast
The signboard to Tartine Saigon Ly Tu Trong is really hard to spot if you are walking past it during the day. It was only at night that it became a little more visible, which was how we first noticed the place.
The night view at Tartine Saigon.

Looking through the menu, it felt like somewhere made for breakfast and brunch, so Jen and I returned the next morning for a big breakfast.

The plate came properly loaded with eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, beans, tomatoes, toast and salad. It was alright. Nothing on the plate particularly jumped out at me, but nothing was particularly wrong either.
What I liked more was the setting.

Tartine sits up on the fourth floor, away from much of the activity at street level. Get a table by the windows and you have a pleasant view over the surrounding streets while sitting somewhere that feels surprisingly removed from the hustle and bustle below.
That, to me, is the stronger reason to come.
It feels a little hidden, it is comfortable enough to linger, and it would be an easy place to sit over breakfast or coffee without feeling rushed.
The kombucha and cappuccino rounded out our breakfast.

Full Breakfast – VND199,000
Hot Cappuccino – VND65,000
Home Raw Kombucha – VND60,000
Subtotal – VND324,000
VAT (8%) – VND25,920
Total: VND349,920
Average per pax: VND174,960
MVX Score: 7.8/10
M – Meal Value
The breakfast itself was alright rather than memorable. At VND199,000 for the full breakfast, it is priced more like a cafe brunch than a local breakfast, and much of the value comes from the overall experience rather than the food alone.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Venue
This is where Tartine worked for me. Being on the fourth floor makes it feel separated from the busy streets below, and the window seats give you an enjoyable view while retaining a quiet, relaxed atmosphere.
Score: 8.5/10
X – X-Factor
Its slightly hidden location is part of the appeal. It is the sort of place you might walk past repeatedly without noticing, then discover a surprisingly calm spot above the activity of District 1.
Score: 8.0/10
