Chicken Chop, Nasi Lemak, Coffee, Non-Halal
Planty of Joy recently opened its doors at the end of March 2023. Since its opening, I have been there twice. Once for coffee and once more for a meal. The coffee that they serve here is decent. You will get a smooth cup of coffee here with a safe middle of ground profile.
The first time I was here, I had an omelette. It was not an item they have in their menu but they nevertheless made it for me. And it came out far better than I expected. The egg was sprinkled with diced mushrooms and tomatoes. No extra salt or pepper was needed to enhance the omelette.
The second visit, I had lunch. Chicken Chop was a no brainer. At RM18, it was affordably priced. Again, I had a special request. I asked for a fried egg to be added. Once again, they consented. The additional egg was RM2. No more than what I would pay at one of the better Kopitiam in Puchong. The chicken chop was competently prepared and well seasoned.
Jen had the Nasi Lemak with Hakka Pork (RM18). The Hakka Pork cutlet that it came with was good. The meat still retain some moistness to it despite it being fried. The Ikan Bilis was crunchy and flavourful. The Sambal not overly spicy. However, the rice was slightly on the clumpy side and lacked aroma.
As part of their opening promo, drinks are just a RM3 add on with an order of a main meal. Not a bad price. While their kitchen is still getting their mojo, their front of house is making up ground by being flexible. I can see myself coming back for a cozy place to have a meal. Do note that they are a pet friendly cafe.
Prices are still nett.
