Chiefeater Luke Soon savoured a traditional Cantonese wantan mee with lean char siew at Lo Chan Kee in Holland Drive

Pate, Non-Halal
I was back at Arthur’s Storehouse Bukit Jalil, a favourite spot of mine for enjoying a well-poured glass of Guinness along with some of their food options. On this visit, I opted for the pate, a classic dish that pairs wonderfully with a good beer. Pate is a spreadable mixture typically made from finely ground meat (often liver), fat, and various seasonings. It’s a versatile dish that can be enjoyed on its own, spread on bread or crackers, or served as part of a larger meal.

At Arthur’s, the pate was served in a glass jar, adding a touch of rustic charm to the presentation. The pate itself was creamy and flavourful, with a delightful peppery undertone that added a nice kick to each bite. It paired beautifully with my Guinness, the rich flavours of the beer complementing the savoury richness of the pate.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Arthur’s Bukit Jalil. The combination of a well-poured Guinness and delicious, peppery pate made for a satisfying and memorable evening. Whether you’re a fan of good beer, tasty food, or both, Arthur’s is definitely worth a visit.
