Aunty Ling’s Auntie Ling’s Nyonya Cendol operates from a nondescript location within SS 3’s Medan Selera. However, don’t let its humble location fool you into thinking that they don’t have a following. Intrigued by the enthusiastic recommendations, I ventured to sample the renowned cendol, eager to unravel the secrets behind its acclaim.
The much-anticipated cendol arrived with the gas vapours of the sublimation effect wafting out from the ice shavings. The dish presented an interesting blend of flavours and textures. While the cendol strands lacked the springiness I personally favour, they still retained a subtle bounce. Some prefer it this way.

The gula melaka, a crucial component of any exceptional cendol, had a mild sweetness that pervaded the concoction. This might appeal to those who prefer a gentler touch of palm sugar. The standout feature was the impeccably compact ice, skillfully crafted to eliminate any coarse or chunky elements. It had the texture of bingsu. Each bowl costs RM6.
