Chiefeater Joyce Lee shares her experience about a happy lunch at Ma Yi Lan Ramen

Big Breakfast, Pork-Free
Jen and I decided to venture to Jalil Perkasa for breakfast, and our destination was Bake by Mel. We had stopped by before for coffee before but didn’t have a meal then.

This time, we decided to share a big breakfast. Priced at RM42, we anticipated a generously sized portion, but it turned out to be no bigger than most other places.
The big breakfast included the usual suspects: chicken sausage, an egg, toast, hash browns, and some leafy vegetables. The chicken sausage was okay but nothing particularly special. The rest of the components were similarly unremarkable, lacking the wow factor we were hoping for in a breakfast advertised as “big.” This is not to say it didn’t taste good, just not RM42 good.

However, their coffee was a pleasant. Priced at RM10, it offered good value and quality. The rich, aromatic brew was a highlight of our meal, making the breakfast experience somewhat redeeming.
If you’re in the area and looking for a solid cup of coffee, Bake By MEL is worth a stop. The quiet ambience on a weekday makes it a pleasant place to chill.
