Roast Pork, Non Halal
Boon’s Signature Roast Pork came out of one man’s desire to serve a better pork offering and his first outlet opened in Damansara Jaya. In 2021, they opened a second outlet within Hartamas Shopping Centre.
Their claim to fame is a technique that produces a bubbly skin on the roast pork giving it a uniquely crunchy skin. Their Roast Pork is made from premium local fresh pork belly which is free of antibiotics. This gives you a siew yoke that is free of artificial boosters.
Chiefeater BC had arrived from Singapore saying how much he missed having a good siew yoke. Singapore may be a first world country but when it comes to food, Singaporeans actually have the get the good stuff in Malaysia.
So it was to Boon’s Signature Roast Pork Hartamas that we went to for BC's first meal in Malaysia. Well, just to cover the bases we also had BBQ Pork (RM14.50 for a small serving) to go with the Roast Pork (RM14.50 for a small serving)
Boon’s Signature Roast Pork recipe calls for meat that has a higher proportion of fat than what many people are currently used to. However, it's the real deal where siew yoke is concerned. Well seasoned with herbs and spices and roasted at the outlet, this is one of the outlets that can lay claim to being among the best roast pork in KL.
BC declared that the roast pork indeed satiated his Need for Siew Yoke here. Task no 1 accomplished. We had more food to eat.
Prices are nett.
