Basilico Restaurant Lunch
Italian, Non-Halal
- RM20 - RM50 per pax
Chiefeater William WL Loo wanted a change of palate from street food so indulged in a bit of Italian with lunch at Basilico Restaurant
Buttermilk Chicken, Non-Halal
Buttermilk Daddy Cafe has a reputation for nailing their rice dishes (which I have enjoyed especially the Hakka braised pork), but their buttermilk chicken noodle set (RM18.90) didn’t quite hit the same notes. The buttermilk chicken, oddly enough, reminded me more of salted egg chicken, relying entirely on the sauce to bring any flavour to the table.
The scallion noodles, unfortunately, fell flat with a bland taste that did nothing for the meal. Even the accompanying soup lacked character.
Surprisingly, the best part of the set turned out to be the fried egg, which at least added a bit of satisfaction to an otherwise disappointing meal. And their iced tea (RM5.90) was good too.
