What a wonderful Dai Fatt (big blessing) meal i had! It's all about the lala experience at newly-opened restaurant Dai Fatt Lala Pot Bayan Baru, opened 2 weeks ago (April 2024) at Elit Avenue, Bayan Baru (2 doors from Karaikudi, Indian Restaurant).
The Lala was super fresh, the red date-based soup was flavourful, the sake was generous (they don't use chinese cooking wine here but real sake), the service was prompt, friendly and attentive.
U get extra free 500g Lala if u cook it yourself. The base serving size is 800g of Lala. No other seasoning used except fresh sliced ginger, chopped garlic and chili padi. U also get a unity cheer of blessing by all d servers when sake wine is poured into your Lala pot - good vibes til the last morsel of Lala!
Fresh Lala. all 1.3kg of it in 1 serving
Added in the extra broccoli and the meat platter. 3 slices each of Australian beef, NZ lamb and pork belly
Broccoli
Ready for me to cook my own Lala
Claypot is being heated
In goes the ginger slices first
Followed by the chopped garlic and chili padi
Now the Lala goes in
They help to cook it if you ask for it
Add in the soup
Add in the sake wine
Let it simmer
Added in the meat. Yumm, ready to be served
