food hunt on a sunday morning for brunch. knew of this cafe from 'cafe hopping with chris' food blog when i was there, they were just opening, thus i was the first and only customer there. it is the De Old Bar & Restaurant, which just opened somewhere in mid april 2023.
this restaurant has a very lovely vintage theme. the whole walls are covered with old and vintage pictures. the cupboards and some furnitures are antiques but pity i did not manage to get a good shot of the main cupboard at the bar area as it looks so lovely. the whole place was dimly lit, that's why taking photos was kind of hard to get good shots.
they have all sorts of food like pasta, grilled meat, western food and serve cocktails and beer. there is a bar area too of course, with high stools and upside down wine glasses hanging around. i went for the set lunch, of which they have seven choices (see set lunch menu taken from their FB) - main, mushroom and drink. i went for the prawns marinara.... of course since it has prawns. but also because i hardly try with marinara sauce. usually it is only aglio olio, carbonara, bolognese - these 3 most common paste i try again and again many times but not marinara.
i also order a plate of snack - pigs in a blanket. fancy creative name - befitting since it was bacon wrapped around a sausage. eight pieces of them with skewers. comes with spicy chilly. RM15.00.
the set lunch of prawns was RM19.00 with mushroom soup and iced lemon tea. since i don't want iced lemon tea but prefer iced latte, i thought i asked for iced latte to replace the iced lemon tea (and willing to pay extra) but it seems that i did not get the iced lemon tea at all but was charged for the iced latte. oh well.
